Lulea, Sweden, June 20, 2013 – Netrounds, a provider of hybrid-cloud solutions to automate testing and monitoring of network and application performance, today announced it has raised $1M in a round of funding from private investors, Startkapital, Almi Invest and Norrlandsfonden.

The European-based company, which has more than 130 customers, including telecommunication industry leaders like Telenor and TDC, will use the funding for continued expansion of its cloud-based and innovative network performance management solution.

Netrounds is used by telecommunication and enterprise IT companies as a cost efficient way to test, troubleshoot and monitor network and service performance bottlenecks to ensure high end-user experience of triple play services (TV, Internet, phone) and other quality demanding business services.

“We are very pleased to have Startkapital and its partners as new investors, as well as seeing follow-up investments from Almi Invest and Norrlandsfonden. We are now able to increase our efforts and take significant steps forward towards our vision to help customers quickly find and fix performance problems in any network, anywhere in the world,” says Mats Nordlund, CEO and co-founder of Netrounds.

Unlike other solutions that are expensive and complex, Netrounds is based on a cost-efficient model that includes the use of cloud-based servers in combination with downloadable measurement software that installs on ordinary PCs or comes pre-installed on smart devices. This enables globally distributed and fully automated testing and monitoring of IP networks such as VoIP, IPTV, SIP and other real-time internet services. Netrounds is designed for use in any network environment ranging from labs, LAN, WAN and data centers. The innovative automation built into Netrounds reduces testing and troubleshooting times from months to days which, in turn, cuts costs significantly.

“This capital injection also makes it possible for us to expand our intelligent measurement software into additional target platforms like home gateways and set-top boxes – making them powerful diagnostics devices easily used through our cloud servers. This brings great value to network operators, smart device vendors and ultimately for broadband customers worldwide,” concludes Marcus Jonsson, CMO and co-founder.
