We are proud to be one of three finalists in the analytics category of the Verizon* & Intel® Network Builders Innovation Challenge, announced at SDN & Open Flow World Congress at The Hague earlier this month.
Contest background: In today’s world, there is zero tolerance for any network downtime. Although we have several services around rapid disaster recovery situations, wouldn’t it help if we could avoid network downtime all together? Using Predictive Network Analytics in the virtual world can help identify and prevent such networking problems, thereby providing an enhanced networking experience to the end users.
The challenge here is to incorporate Intel ingredient technologies on the Verizon Cloud Platform to develop an analytics solution with a focus on preventing networking problems and enhancing the end user experience for virtualized network infrastructure.
Since the announcement of the finalists, we have been working with Verizon and Intel to implement the proposed innovation. The next step is to demonstrate our active network analytics and software-based test and service assurance solution in the Verizon Network Visionaries Lab in Waltham, MA later in November.
“We are thrilled to be a finalist in the Verizon and Intel Network Builders Innovation Challenge and look forward to accelerating innovation around enhancing customer experience in SDN and NFV-based networks with Intel and the Verizon Network Visionaries Program,” said Marcus Friman, Chief Product Officer and co-founder of Netrounds, “As virtualization progresses and networks become more complex with increased frequency of changes, exponentially more connected devices, and shared resources in multi-vendor environments, exceptional customer experience will become harder to ensure. Collaborating with Intel on an analytics solution that can proactively identify and prevent network problems will assist Verizon in meeting and exceeding customer demands today and in the future.”
The grand prize winners will be announced at the Intel Network Builders Summit event in conjunction with the Carrier Network Virtualization conference in Palo Alto, CA on December 5. If you are attending CNV, stop by our booth and ask us about our active analytics and software-based test and service assurance solution. Our CEO, Mats Nordlund, will also be presenting in the MANO Spotlight Session on Tuesday, December 6th at 14:20.
